The Company commenced trading in December 1986 under the control of Charles Kerr.  In 1989 a partnership was formed with John Kerr, Charles’ brother.  The limited Company was formed in 1992. David Withers joined 3 years later, responsible for administration.

Over the years the Company has retained its reputation as a friendly family business that, perhaps, explains its success in not only maintaining its existing customer base but also expanding into other areas.

November 2001 brought yet another impressive success with the achievement of Service Company of the Year run by the Irish Energy Centre (now the Sustainable Energy Centre) based in Dublin and followed this up by winning it again in 2002. These awards were particularly pleasing due to the fact that the competition is open to all service companies in Ireland. The award was also pleasing due to the part played by our customers who are asked for their assessment of our performance over a wide range of criteria.

In 2001 the Company achieved two awards from the industrial sector. In May we became Phoenix Gas Industrial/Commercial Installer of the year. We regard this award by the industry in Northern Ireland as recognition of our commitment to training our personnel to the highest standards to cope with the extra demands of this fuel.

The business has maintained its market position over the years.  We presently employ 14 people including Service Engineers, Boiler Fitters and Office Staff.  Turnover is currently running at around £1.5m per annum.  We carry out work throughout Ireland and we have also completed work on the UK mainland.

Some of our prestigious industrial customers include Moypark, Arntz Belting, Gallaher, Thales Missile Division and Smurfit Corrugated Cases.

We are also heavily involved in the commercial and domestic market.  Our customers include NI Fire & Rescue Service, NE Education and Library Board, Grahams of Dromore, Lisburn City Council, Odyssey Arena, Victoria College, Wallace High School, Friends School and Armagh City Council.
